We install, inspect, test, and maintain fire safety systems and equipment. Our experienced team ensures every job complies with the latest Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC).
About Douse Fire Protection
Douse Fire Protection was established in 2006 by our directors Todd and Krysy Campbell, who now have over 20 years of experience in the fire protection industry.
The business has grown into a dedicated team of 11, including fire technicians, electricians, accredited practitioners of fire safety, and administration staff.

Inspect and Test
All Douse Fire technicians have completed their Certificate II or above in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing and are FPAS Inspect and Test accredited under the FPAA accreditation scheme. Our team performs routine maintenance in accordance with Australian Standard AS1851-2012.

Annual Fire Safety Statements
At Douse Fire Protection, we assist in preparing both types of Fire Safety Statements:
- Annual Fire Safety Statements: Issued yearly, these statements cover all essential fire safety measures specific to your building. They certify that our accredited practitioner has inspected and confirmed the compliance and effectiveness of each measure, giving you confidence in your building’s ongoing safety.
- Supplementary Fire Safety Statements: Issued at intervals specified in your fire safety schedule, these statements focus on critical fire safety measures to ensure continued compliance and safety.
Accredited Practitioner of Fire Safety
Our team includes two Accredited Practitioners of Fire Safety.
An Accredited Practitioner is an individual who undertakes the assessment of essential fire safety measures (EFSMs) to confirm ongoing performance of the purposes of an annual or supplementary fire safety statement.
This class of accreditation has been designed to address the requirements for certain fire protection work in New South Wales to be carried out by an Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) (APFS), under the state’s 2017 fire safety reforms.
Fire safety assessment accreditation is mandatory in New South Wales for endorsing EFSMs, recognised by the Secretary of the Department of Customer Service under section 59 of the Building Development and Certification Act 2018.
APFSs conduct annual assessments under Part 12 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment (Development Certification and Fire Safety) Regulation 2021 of all building types except Class 1a, Class 10, or temporary structures.
Their responsibility is to:
- confirm that each EFSM is capable of performing to a standard no less than that specified in the fire safety schedule or to which it was originally designed and implemented; and
- verified that the building, when inspected, was in a condition that did not disclose grounds for a prosecution under Part 15.
This role involves:
- identifying the standard of performance to which EFSMs are required to operate and perform;
- assess, inspect, and verify each EFSM to ensure that it is operating and performing as required; · inspect exits and paths of travel to exit to ensure there is no offence under the Regulation (Part 15); an
- complete the relevant sections of the Annual or Supplementary Fire Safety Statement so that it can be submitted by the building owner or their agent(s).
